description?Betty Hargreaves was born on 2nd January, 1918, and moved to Penrith with her family in 1936. Betty met her husband whilst working as a secretary for her father, a produce merchant. Betty started the Penrith Community Aid organisation, as well as a Women's refuge, and was subsequently awarded an Order of Australia for services to the community.
